Softball Lone Unbeaten Left at NCCAA Regional

WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Top-seed Indiana Wesleyan University softball defeated Oakland City (Ind.) 5-2 on Monday during the opening day of play in the three-team double elimination NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournament. Play has already been suspended for Tuesday due to upcoming weather with games resuming on Wednesday.

What Went Down

  • Kaisey Carson (JR/Avon, IN) was at it again as she turned in big-time performances at the plate and on the mound. Carson threw a complete game and led off the game with a home run.
  • Allison Bexell (SR/Avon, Ind.), Sara Kreitzer (JR/Ashland, Ohio), and Gabby Bogear (SR/Sacramento, Calif.) each finished with two hits.
  • Five other Wildcats had a hit as Indiana Wesleyan tallied 11 hits in the win.

     

Tournament Update

  • Oakland City opened the tournament with an 8-6 victory over Grace. IWU remains unbeaten while Oakland City and Grace each hold a loss in the double elimination tournament. Tuesday play has been postponed due to the weather forecast so please check back on iwuwildcats.com for further updates.
