MARION, Ind. -- No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball lit the nets up in a 112-91 win over visiting Grace (Ind.) in the Crossroads League opener in Luckey Arena. Six Wildcats scored in double figures and the team shot a school record 65-percent from 3-point range on 15-of-23 shooting.

• IWU scored the game’s first 10 points and built a 20-5 lead just six minutes in.
• The Indiana Wesleyan lead fluctuated between 7 to 15 points the rest of the half and they took a 59-48 lead into halftime.
• Grace cut the deficit to 61-56 with 16:30 remaining in the game but IWU responded with a 25-5 run and increased their lead to 86-61 with 11 minutes remaining.
• The 112 points is the most for the Wildcats since scoring 113 in a win over Bellevue (Neb.) on March 10, 2016 in the NAIA National Championship First Round.
• The 65.2-percent (15 of 23) that Indiana Wesleyan shot from 3-point range is a new program record. The old record was 63.0-percent (17 of 27) vs. Bethel on February 27, 2016.

  “We have a lot of guys who can shoot it. Canaan has been hot and he stayed hot, Grant Evans made shots, and Grant Zawadzki was 3-for-3. We just have a lot of guys who can hit a 3 and the nice thing is they do it without taking bad shots. We are so deep and our strength is our depth. We want to push it because we have a lot of fresh bodies on the bench ready to come in.”
