- The Cougars raced out to a 14-2 run to open the third quarter. The spurt gave them a 13 point lead at 39-26. The Cougars took that 13 point lead (43-30) to begin the fourth quarter.
- Early in the fourth quarter Indiana Wesleyan used an 8-0 run to close to within five points at 45-40.
- After the teams traded baskets, Spring Arbor used a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 54-42 with 1:21 remaining.
