INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball used a 24-4 run early in the first half to open up a 21 point lead as they went on to win 82-72 on the road at No. 12 Marian (Ind.) on Tuesday night in Indianapolis. Lane Mahurin (JR/Rockville, Ind.) paced the Wildcats with a game-high 29 points as IWU remains one game behind No. 4 Saint Francis (Ind.) for the Crossroads League lead.

• Indiana Wesleyan scored the game’s first five points and never trailed on Tuesday.
• The Wildcats used a 24-4 run early in the first half to build a 29-8 lead with 11 minutes left in the first half. The 21 point lead was the largest of the game.
• IWU led 46-27 at halftime.
• Marian narrowed the deficit to seven points with 3:46 remaining. But IWU used an 8-2 run over the next two minutes to secure the victory.
• Lane Mahurin led all players with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting. He also had eight rebounds, four assists, and four blocked shots.
• Jonny Marlin (SR/Greenwood, Ind.) contributed 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists while Bob Peters (JR/Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) chipped in 13 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists. Grant Evans (SO/Selma, Ind.) was the fourth Wildcat in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.
• The Knights were held to 36.9-percent shooting on 24-of-65 shots.

• The win is the 20th this season for Indiana Wesleyan which marks the 10th consecutive season IWU has 20 or more victories. In the 38 seasons before the streak, Indiana Wesleyan only accumulated two 20 win seasons which came in 1981 and 1982.
• With Marian and Grace (Ind.) both losing tonight, Indiana Wesleyan claims sole possession of second place in the Crossroads League with an 8-3 record. Saint Francis (Ind.) leads the league with a 9-2 mark.
