- Taylor came out scorching the nets and raced out to a 16-4 lead before the game was five minutes old.
- Indiana Wesleyan used a 21-5 run to capture a 25-21 advantage.
- The Wildcats gained a seven point lead at 34-27 with 45 seconds left in the half for the largest lead in the opening 20 minutes. But the Trojans scored six points in the final 37 seconds as IWU led 34-33 at halftime.
- Indiana Wesleyan scored 12 out of 16 points in a six minutes stretch to gain the first double digit lead at 53-42 with 11:29 remaining.
- Taylor closed the deficit to seven points but and 8-0 Indiana Wesleyan run allowed IWU to pull away late. Aaron Murray (JR/Louisville, Ky.) hit two free throws to end the run for a 68-53 lead with 3:36 to play.
- Jonny Marlin led the Wildcats with 20 points with 15 of them being scored in the second half. He also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
- Bob Peters (JR/Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) finished with 17 points, Grant Evans (SO/Selma, Ind.) added 12 points and 3 steals, and Lane Mahurin (JR/Rockville, Ind.) finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
- Kyle Stidom scored a game-high 23 points for Taylor.

- The Wildcats have eight straight wins vs. the Trojans. The last loss to their Grant County rival came on February 14, 2012 in Luckey Arena.
- Indiana Wesleyan has won four straight games inside Odle Arena. IWU last lost in Upland on January 10, 2012.
