Box Score MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball won Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 victory over Huntington (Ind.) in Crossroads League play inside Luckey Arena.
The Wildcats defeated the Foresters 25-12, 25-18, 16 to improve to 15-3 this season and 8-1 in league play. The Foresters drop to 4-5 with all their matches being contested in the Crossroads League.
“More and more in our Crossroads League play, from the bottom to the top, it takes a lot of focus and a lot of good volleyball to win,” said Wildcat head coach Candace Moats. “We came in to today’s game knowing Huntington was going to challenge us. They have come so far.”
The victory comes less than 24 hours after Indiana Wesleyan overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat Bethel (Ind.) 3-2 on Friday night. Saturday’s match was delayed one hour due to a power outage that affected much of South Marion Saturday afternoon.
Kylie Portera (JR/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) led all players with eight kills which came in just 10 chances. Remy Bucknor (JR/Euless, Texas), Bianca Cifaldi (JR/Itasca, Ill.), and Sarah Collicott (JR/West Lafayette, Ind.) all added seven kills while Kristin Predajna (SR/Fishers, Ind.) had six and Morgan Miller (SO/Goshen, Ind.) contributed five kills. Emily Workman (SO/Tinley Park, Ill.) tallied 21 assists while Katey Holler (SR/Marion, Ohio) assisted on 16 kills. Lindsay Rogan (JR/Champaign, Ill.) served both Indiana Wesleyan aces. Ashlen Buck (JR/Brazil, Ind.) collected 22 digs and Miller finished with two block assists.
Indiana Wesleyan completes their three match home stand on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. as they host Marian (Ind.) inside Luckey Arena.
