Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. -- Kylie Portera (JR/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) finished with a match-high 13 kills on Wednesday as Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball won 3-0 at Goshen in Goshen, Indiana.
Portera was the only player to reach double figure kills for either team. She had all those kills in just 18 attempts for a .667 attack percentage.
The Wildcats won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-15 to finish off a five match stretch of road contests. The Wildcats went 4-1 during that stretch to improve to 13-3 this season and 6-1 in Crossroads League play.
“At the end of a string of away matches I was proud of the girl’s perseverance,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “We are ready to return to Luckey Arena and play in front of our awesome Wildcat fans.”
Morgan Miller (SO/Goshen, Ind.) added nine kills and a .368 attack percentage while Remy Bucknor (JR/Euless, Texas) and Kristin Predajna (SR/Fishers, Ind.) each added six kills. Emily Workman (SO/Tinley Park, Ill.) accumulated a match-best 20 assists and Katey Holler (SR/Marion, Ohio) earned 18.
Ashlen Buck (JR/Brazil, Ind.) was the only player on Wednesday with double digit digs as she earned 13 of them and Lindsay Rogan (JR/Champaign, Ill.) totaled eight. Indiana Wesleyan tallied five team blocks against Goshen and was led by Bucknor with two solo blocks and one block assist. Portera and Predajna each had one solo block.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action this weekend with a pair of home matches at Luckey Arena. IWU hosts Bethel (Ind.) at 7 p.m. on Friday night and then plays Huntington (Ind.) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
