Box Score UPLAND, Ind. -- No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball suffered their first Crossroads League loss on Friday but rebounded on Saturday with a 3-0 win at Taylor (Ind.) in Upland, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 12-3 this season and 5-1 in Crossroads League action following the 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 victory. The loss drops #RV Taylor to 7-7 overall and 4-2 in league play.
“I was so proud of the ladies today,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “There were many circumstances surrounding today that could have mentally been distracting but instead they decided as a team to rise about it all and fight together. It was impacting for our program. I so respect these ladies hearts.”
Indiana Wesleyan boasted a balanced offensive attack with five players accumulating six or more attacks. Kristin Predajna (SR/Fishers, Ind.) led all players with 11 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Sarah Collicott (JR/West Lafayette, Ind.) and Remy Bucknor (JR/Euless, Texas) each contributed nine kills, Morgan Miller (SO/Goshen, Ind.) added eight kills, and Bianca Cifaldi (JR/Itasca, Ill.) finished with six kills. Emily Workman (SO/Tinley Park, Ill.) assisted on 26 of those kills while Katey Holler (SR/Marion, Ohio) had 15 assists.
The Wildcats totaled eight team blocks against the Trojans. Bucknor, Predajna, and Kylie Portera (JR/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) all had one solo block. Ashlen Buck (JR/Brazil, Ind.) earned 20 digs while Banner Rodgers (SO/Carrollton, Texas) had 12 and Holler had 10.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play at Goshen (Ind.) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
