MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University softball team was well represented as the Crossroads League announced their postseason softball awards during the Crossroads League Tournament at Marian in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Alex Springer (FR/Fort Wayne, Ind.), Haley Nixon (FR/Bristol, Ind.), and Sara Kreitzer (SO/Ashland, Ohio) were all named to the All-Crossroads League Team while Janessa Guevara (JR/Lathrop, Calif.) was selected All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention. Three Wildcats earned Crossroads League Gold Glove Awards as Nixon earned the honor as a pitcher, Gabby Bogear (JR/Sacramento, Calif.) at second base, and Kelsey Kooistra (FR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) at shortstop.

Springer has had an absolutely historic season for Indiana Wesleyan as she was also named Crossroads League Newcomer of the Year. Springer has hit 18 home runs to set a new single season mark that was previously 11. She is hitting .466 on the season with a .519 on-base percentage and a .957 slugging percentage. Springer has 23 doubles and 67 RBIs. She leads the Wildcats in each of those categories.

Kreitzer has contributed a .407 average with 9 home runs and 40 RBIs. She has 16 stolen bases and a team leading 64 runs scored. Kreitzer has a .512 on base percentage and a .653 slugging percentage.

Nixon led the Indiana Wesleyan pitching staff with a 20-6 record and 2.08 earned run average. She has a team-high 158 innings pitched and has struck out 134 opposing batters. Nixon has pitched in 32 games and started 26 of them.

Guevara earned Honorable Mention with a 16-1 record and a 2.29 ERA. In 23 games started this season, Guevara pitched 113 innings and has a .261 opponents batting average against.

Indiana Wesleyan earned three defensive awards with Gold Gloves by Nixon, Bogear, and Kooistra. Nixon had just one error in 60 chances this year for a .983 fielding percentage. Bogear earned a .973 fielding percentage with 5 errors in 185 chances. She helped turn 10 double plays this season. Kooistra was a part of 12 double plays and had committed just 8 errors in 155 chances at shortstop. Kooistra has a .948 fielding percentage.
