Goshen plated their lone run in the top of the fourth inning while Indiana Wesleyan rebuilt their lead to eight runs on an Abby White (JR/Georgetown, Texas) RBI double in the fourth inning for a 9-1 lead.
Carlie Weaver (FR/Brownsburg, Ind.) improved to 7-2 on the season as she allowed no runs on two hits in 3.0 innings of work. Janessa Guevara (JR/Lathrop, Calif.) pitched the final 2.0 innings to close out the game.

The opening game went to 10 innings where the international tie breaker rule came into effect. Each team began the inning with a runner on second base in the 10th.
Goshen loaded the bases with one out when an Abby Flickner hard hit grounder to first base was mishandled by Sara Kreitzer (SO/Ashland, Ohio) which allowed two runs to score for a 4-2 lead. IWU opened the bottom of the 10th inning with an RBI double by Olivia Rasmussen (SO/Des Moines, Iowa) to score Bogear from second base. Rasmussen was now on second base as the tying run with no outs. But a fly out and a strikeout preceded a Kaylynn Rose walk. Haley Nixon (FR/Bristol, Ind.) came to back and grounded out to shortstop as Goshen pulled out the 4-3 victory.
Nixon pitched all 10.0 innings and allowed four runs -- one earned -- on 11 hits. She walked one Maple Leaf and struck out six. Allison Bexell (JR/Avon, Ind.) was 3-for-5 with a run scored while Springer and Emily Hastings (SO/Riverside, Ill.) each contributed two hits.
Indiana Wesleyan next plays Marian (Ind.) on Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana. First pitch will be at 3 p.m.
