Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Tonight opened the Crossroads League volleyball schedule and Indiana Wesleyan traveled to play at Spring Arbor (Mich.).
The Wildcats (6-3, 1-0 CL) earned a 3-0 victory over the Cougars (1-8, 0-1) by scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-21.
“This is our first midweek match and we learned the challenge of going through a day, traveling, and being ready to compete,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “I was proud of the girls’ fight and determination to not lose a set and stay together. It’s fun to see the lessons learned every time we step on the court.”
Sophomore middle blocker Remy Bucknor (SO/Euless, Texas) continued her stellar play with eight kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Bucknor was also a force defensively at the net with four blocks. Sophomore opposite hitter Morgan Miller (FR/Goshen, Ind.) earned a match-best 10 kills while junior setter Katey Holler (JR/Marion, Ohio) collected 21 assists and nine digs. Sophomore libero Ashlen Buck (SO/Brazil, Ind.) finished the evening with seven digs.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action next Wednesday evening. IWU hosts Saint Francis (Ind.) in Crossroads League play at 5 p.m. in Luckey Arena.
