Box Score WINOANA LAKE, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer surrendered two early goals on Saturday night as host Grace (Ind.) won 2-0 in the Crossroads League opener for both teams in Winona Lake, Indiana.
Jordan Hairgrove scored the game-winner in the 14th minute for the 1-0 lead and Mallory Rondeau added an insurance goal in the 17th minute as Grace led 2-0.
The Lancers outshot the Wildcats 13-6 on the night and held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. Wildcat keeper Megan Weiss (FR/Lexington, Ohio) made two saves, both coming in the second half. Nicole Biggs (JR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Lizzie Rittenhouse (SO/Marion, Ind.) each led the team with two shots while Kerry Devney (JR/Brownsburg, Ind.) and Rittenhouse each put a shot on goal.
Indiana Wesleyan drops to 1-8-0 this season and 0-1-0 in the Crossroads League. Grace improves their record to 5-2-2 overall and 1-0-0 in league play.
The Wildcats return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night in their first Crossroads League home match. IWU hosts Bethel (Ind.) at Wildcat Field.
