Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The next six Crossroads League matches for Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball will take place away from Luckey Arena. IWU played the first of those matches tonight and came away with a 3-0 win at Bethel (Ind.) in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan and Bethel tied for the Crossroads League regular season championship a year ago with identical 16-2 records. Indiana Wesleyan left no doubt tonight though as they won by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.
“The girls played very tough tonight,” said IWU head coach Candace Moats. “They kept their poise and never looked back. It was the proudest that I have been of them all year.”
The Wildcats improve to 11-3 this season with a perfect 6-0 mark in the Crossroads League. The Pilots drop to 8-7 and 2-3 in league competition.
Morgan Miller (FR/Goshen, Ind.) paced Indiana Wesleyan with a team-high 11 kills, a .333 hitting percentage, and eight digs. Alijah Mulitauopele (SR/Colorado Springs, Colo.) added seven kills while Remy Bucknor (SO/Euless, Texas) and Kylie Portera (SO/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) each had five kills. Bucknor finished with three block assists and Portera contributed a solo block and a block assist. Ashlen Buck (SO/Brazil, Ind.) had a team-best 10 digs while Miller and Katey Holler (JR/Marion, Ohio) each served a pair of aces.
Indiana Wesleyan will now play Goshen (Ind.) on Saturday. The match begins at 3 p.m. in Goshen, Indiana.
