Box Score UPLAND, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer two match win streak was stopped tonight as Taylor (Ind.) won 2-0 at New Stadium in Upland, Indiana.
The Wildcats had defeated Bethel (Ind.) and Marian (Ind.) in their last two outings. But tonight’s loss to the Trojans brings the Wildcats’ record to 3-9-0 overall and 2-2- in the Crossroads League. The Trojans improve to 6-3-3 and 3-1-0 in league play.
Taylor got on the board in the 17th minute when Amada Roden scored on a penalty kick. TU added on to their lead very late in the first half when Roden scored in the 43rd minute and Rebekah Pack made it 3-0 in the 45th minute with just seven seconds left before halftime.
Emily Brydon connected on the only goal of the second half in the 67th minute as Taylor led 4-0.
Taylor outshot Indiana Wesleyan 13-6 on the evening and 8-2 in shots on goal. IWU keeper Megan Weiss (FR/Lexington, Ohio) made four saves in the losing effort. All four saves came in the second half.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the pitch at 7 p.m. on Saturday as IWU hosts Goshen (Ind.) in Crossroads League action at Wildcat Field.
