Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer came from behind twice on Saturday afternoon to earn a 2-2 draw at Huntington (Ind.) in Huntington, Indiana.
Huntington struck quickly with a goal by Kaitlyn Dreman in the fourth minute of play. That goal would be the only score in the opening half that saw Indiana Wesleyan outshoot Huntington 14-6.
Kerry Devney (JR/Brownsburg, Ind.) tied the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 56th minute. The tie did not last long as Courtney Baker responded with a Huntington goal less than one minute later in the 57th minute. Indiana Wesleyan continued to pelt the Huntington net and once again found a game-tying goal. Lizzie Rittenhouse (SO/Marion, Ind.) scored the equalizer in the 69th minute with Katie Pannabecker (JR/Leo, Ind.) being credited with the assist.
Neither team scored in the final 21 minutes of regulation as the match continued into overtime. There were no goals scored in the two extra periods as the match ended in a tie.
The Wildcats launched 23 shots in the match and put 13 of them on goal. The Foresters managed 13 shots with five on target. IWU keeper Megan Weiss (FR/Lexington, Ohio) collected three saves.
Indiana Wesleyan is now 4-10-1 this season and 3-3-1 in the Crossroads League. Huntington now stands 3-11-2 and 1-4-2 in league matches.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to Wildcat Field for their final regular season home match at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. IWU hosts Spring Arbor (Mich.) on Senior Night.
