Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- An early second half goal gave host Saint Francis (Ind.) a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night against Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Less than four minutes into the second half Saint Francis’ Jill Burkholder took a corner kick. Her kick went to the far post where Mackenzie Starcevich was one of many Cougars crashing the net and knocked the ball to the back of the net for the score.
Indiana Wesleyan had its best chance 17 minutes later. Katie Pannabecker (JR/Leo, Ind.) took a shot but the USF keeper was able to make the save. The shot on goal was the only one for Indiana Wesleyan in the match.
The Cougars outshot the Wildcats 15-8 in the game and held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. IWU keeper Megan Weiss (FR/Lexington, Ohio) made seven saves in eight chances in net for the Wildcats
Indiana Wesleyan next plays at 4 p.m. on Saturday in a Crossroads League match at Huntington.
