Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) could not withstand the red-hot Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team on Saturday afternoon.
Indiana Wesleyan won their first Crossroads League match on the road this season by a 3-0 outcome. IWU won by scores of 25-12, 25-11, 26-24.
“I’m proud of how they stepped up their communication focus tonight,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “They approached this match by taking it very seriously and playing with great discipline. Because of that we were able to play everyone in the third set.”
Kristine Egebrecht led all players with 12 kills for Indiana Wesleyan. Rae Brandes added eight kills and 17 digs while Rebecca Brandes contributed 15 digs. Remy Bucknor continues her stellar play at the net with two solo blocks and four block assists.
Indiana Wesleyan has now won six straight as the Wildcats improve to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the Crossroads League. Mount Vernon Nazarene drops to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in league play.
The Wildcats will next play at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in a Crossroads League showdown with University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
