Box Score MARION, Ind. -- In the final non-league match before Crossroads League play begins this weekend the Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Northwestern Ohio at Wildcat Field.
Frida Bremer accounted for both Racer goals on Wednesday. Bremer scored the game-winner in the 22nd minute and then added an insurance goal 40 seconds into the second half. Anja Koempel assisted on both Bremer tallies.
Northwestern Ohio outshot Indiana Wesleyan 20-5 in the contest and put 13 shots on goal compared to one for Indiana Wesleyan. Rachel Fulkerson played all 90 minutes in net for Indiana Wesleyan and she was forced to make 10 saves to keep IWU close. Seven of her saves came in the second half.
The Wildcats have lost three in a row and are now 3-3-1 this season while the Racers improve to 6-2-0.
Indiana Wesleyan opens Crossroads League play at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Marian (Ind.). The match will be played in Indianapolis, Indiana.
