Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- For the seventh consecutive match the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team came out on top. On Wednesday evening it came with a 3-0 victory on the road at Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Wildcats overwhelmed the Cougars (6-6, 2-2 CL) on their home floor by scores of 25-11, 25-6, 25-19. IWU has won 21 consecutive sets since losing the first game of a 3-1 victory over then No. 22 Point Park (Pa.) on August 30.
“As our young team matures they are taking great strides in offensive and defensive execution,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “With the athleticism we have on the court and our increase in discipline, I think the sky is the limit for us this season.”
Senior Rae Brandes managed to accumulate eight kills and 10 digs in the win while twin sister Rebecca Brandes had a match-best 15 digs. Senior Kristine Egebrecht added seven kills and freshman Remy Bucknor chipped in five.
No. 20-ranked Indiana Wesleyan (9-3, 4-0 CL) returns to Luckey Arena for a pair of weekend matches. IWU hosts Bethel (Ind.) at 7 p.m. on Friday and then Goshen (Ind.) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
