FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The final round of play at the Crossroads League Men’s Golf Championship featured Indiana Wesleyan University jumping two spots in the final standings for a fourth place finish.
Following two rounds of play on Monday Indiana Wesleyan was in sixth place. Tuesday had a final round of 18-holes and that is where Indiana Wesleyan jumped University of Saint Francis (Ind.) and then tied Huntington (Ind.) University for fourth place.
Brooks Curry had a phenomenal tournament for the Wildcats as he was named All-Crossroads League for his top-10 finish. He shot a three-round total of 226 to tie for seventh overall. Curry shot 77 in both rounds on Monday and finished the championship with an even par 72 on Tuesday.
Blake Russell was five strokes behind Curry and was 15th overall with a scorecard of 231 (76-75-80). Dalton Miller placed 22nd in the tournament with a three round total of 237 (79-80-78) and Pete Kaufmann was 37th with a final card of 245 (81-81-83).
Brady Klotz of Bethel (Ind.) College won medalist honors with a 214. He shot rounds of 70-72-72 to win the 48-golfer field.
Marian (Ind.) University won the Crossroads League Championship by 18-strokes. Marian scored an 888 team score with rounds of 291-290-307. Bethel was a distant runner-up at 906 (304-302-300). Taylor was third in the standings at 914 (298-307-309) while Indiana Wesleyan (313-313-313) and Huntington (311-312-316) tied for fourth place with a score of 939.
Saint Francis, which entered the final round in fourth place, fell to sixth place at 945 (304-317-324). Grace (Ind.) College took seventh in the tournament with a 949 (314-313-322), Spring Arbor (Mich.) University (310-320-324) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University (321-316-317) tied for eighth place with identical scores of 954 and Goshen (Ind.) College was 10th at 1,036 (355-333-348).
