Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball did not take things for granted on Wednesday evening as they traveled to Michigan and quickly put away Spring Arbor (Mich.) in three short matches.
The Wildcats defeated the Cougars by scores of 25-7, 25-10, 25-13 in one of the most lopsided defeats for the Wildcats in some time.
“Great teams come out every night ready to perform and ready to execute,” said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. “I think our girls did a really good job coming prepared to treat this like a championship match.”
The Wildcats were quite efficient with a .398 hitting percentage with 39 kills in 83 opportunities. IWU had just six errors while nine different players recorded at least one kill.
Senior Rae Brandes led the way with 10 kills. She would be the only player on the court with double digit kills. Senior Kristine Egebrecht added seven kills and senior Rebecca Brandes add 13 digs. Freshman Raina Troyer contributed three service aces and eight digs.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 19-5 this season with a mark of 10-1 in Crossroads League matches. Spring Arbor drops to 5-16 and 1-11 in league play.
The Wildcats remain on the road with a pair of weekend league matches. IWU plays at Bethel on Friday and then at Goshen on Saturday.
