Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The No. 7-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team won their second Crossroads League match in as many days with a 3-1 victory at Bethel (Ind.) College in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 2-1 in league play following a 25-23, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 victory. Overall, IWU ups their record to 9-1.
Junior outside hitter Rae Brandes looks to be completely healed as she earned a double-double for the second straight night. Brandes tallied a match-high 17 kills and tied for the most digs with 18. She was very effective offensively evident by her .455 attacking percentage.
Junior middle hitter Kristine Egebrecht added 12 kills and a .321 hitting percentage and freshman middle hitter Kristin Predajna added 11 kills along with a .368 percentage. Indiana Wesleyan ended the afternoon hitting .273 as a team. Senior Yui Iwase continues her strong season with 50 assists in the win along with seven digs.
Junior libero Rebecca Brandes matched her twin sister with 18 digs for the Wildcats. IWU also blocked eight kill attempts for points on Saturday, led by Egebrecht with two solos and three assists. Junior opposite hitter Shelby Newberry was also a force at the net with two solo blocks and one assist.
Indiana Wesleyan remains on the road for their third straight Crossroads League match when the Wildcats travel to Huntington (Ind.) University on Wednesday, September 12. The match begins at 7 p.m.
