Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. -- The No. 7-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday night with a 3-0 victory over host Goshen (Ind.) College.
Indiana Wesleyan (8-1, 1-1 Crossroads League) suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday in a 3-1 defeat to Grace (Ind.) College, but IWU rebounded with their first Crossroads League win of the season tonight. Indiana Wesleyan won by scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-17.
Junior Kristine Egebrecht had another huge evening. The middle hitter earned a match-best 15 kills with a stellar .714 kill percentage. Egebrecht also contributed five digs, one solo block, and three block assists.
Junior outside hitter Rae Brandes returned to the court for her first full action in a week. Brandes had a performance reminiscent of her play before the injury with a double-double of 10 kills and 14 digs. She also earned a .318 attack percentage.
Senior setter Yui Iwase assisted on 39 kills while chipping in six digs. Leading the Wildcats in digs was junior libero Rebecca Brandes with 16. Indiana Wesleyan totaled eight blocks as a team led by Egebrecht and sophomore outside hitter Alijah Mulitauopele with one solo block and three block assists each.
Indiana Wesleyan will remain in northern Indiana as the Wildcats play at Bethel (Ind.) College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
