Box Score MARION, Ind. -- Sophomore Jessica Hull did a little bit of everything on Saturday for Indiana Wesleyan University softball in the team's 7-1 victory over visiting University of Saint Francis (Ill.).
Hull was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats' who won their 12th consecutive game. She pitched 6.0 innings and allowed one earned run on nine hits, no walks, and four strikeouts. Besides the winning effort as the starting pitcher, Hull clubbed a home run and had three RBI with the bat. She finished 1-for-3 with a walk.
Indiana Wesleyan scored in the bottom of the first and never looked back en route to the six run victory. IWU added two runs in each of the third, fourth, and sixth innings. Saint Francis tallied their only run in the fifth inning.
The Wildcats offense exploded for 13 hits in the victory and four players earned multi-hit games.
Designated player Dana Runyan finished 3-for-4 with a double while first baseman Brittney Van Vliet and second baseman Kristina Ross each hit 2-for-3. Centerfielder Tamara Davis was 1-for-2 with a walk and a pair of runs scored.
Third baseman Katie Smith, who wears No. 22, finished with a lot of deuces in the box score. Smith was 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, two RBI, and a two base hit.
The 12-game win streak improves the Wildcats' record to 18-4 on the season. IWU has not lost since a 12-7 decision to Point Park (Penn.) University on March 5, the first day of the Spring Break trip to Kissimmee, Florida.
Indiana Wesleyan will jump into Mid-Central College Conference play for the first time this season when they return to the diamond at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27 at Grace (Ind.) College in Winona Lake, Indiana.
