Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer season came to a close Wednesday afternoon following a 4-1 loss at Grace (Ind.) College in the NCCAA Midwest Regional Semifinals.
The Lancers outshot the Wildcats 27-10 on the day and held a 12-2 advantage in shots on goal. Grace advances to the NCCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Saturday and will play either Cedarville (Ohio) University or Oakland City (Ind.) University.
Grace took a 2-0 lead into halftime with goals in the 31st and 40th minutes. After 45 minutes of play Grace held a 15-5 shots advantage.
The Lancers built their lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 81st minute. The Wildcats were able to crack the scoreboard in the 85th minute on a score by junior midfielder Geoff Bowman. The Lancers quickly increased the margin to three with their fourth and final tally in the 88th minute.
Indiana Wesleyan closes the season at 13-4-4 and claimed the Crossroads League regular season championship. Grace improves to 12-5-2.
