Box Score MARION, Ind. -- The No. 9-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team quickly disposed of visiting Huntington (Ind.) University in a 3-0 win Wednesday at Luckey Arena.
The 25-9, 25-13, 25-14 victory is the 18th consecutive win for the Wildcats as the team improves to 25-1 on the season. IWU also improves to 13-1 in Crossroads League play and will hold at least a two game lead in the standings.
Little went wrong for Indiana Wesleyan as they finished with a season-high .438 attacking percentage. It is just the second time this season that Indiana Wesleyan finished above the .400 mark as a team.
Pacing the efficient performance on Wednesday were junior middle hitter Kristine Egebrecht, senior outside hitter Rachel Quackenbush, and junior outside hitter Rae Brandes. The trio accounted for 28 kills and just one error in 50 chances. Egebrecht led all players with 11 kills while Brandes added nine and Quackenbush earned eight.
Senior setter Yui Iwase dished out 34 assists. Sophomore opposite hitter Alijah Mulitauopele, senior defensive specialist Jordan Sudzina, and Quackenbush all served one ace.
Defensively, junior libero Rebecca Brandes contributed a team-best 10 digs while her sister Rae added nine. Egebrecht was a force at the net with one solo block and three block assists while senior outside hitter Brooke Atwell assisted on a pair of blocks.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 7 p.m. on Friday with a home match against University of Saint Francis (Ind.).
