Box Score 2 UPLAND, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday afternoon at the first day of competition of the IWU/Taylor Tournament in Upland, Indiana.
No. 21-ranked Indiana Wesleyan dropped a hard fought decision to No. 17-ranked Indiana Tech in the opener. Indiana Tech earned the win by scores of 28-26, 26-24, 25-21. IWU rebounded in their afternoon finale with a victory over Malone (Ohio) University in four games, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21.
The first day of matches at the IWU/Taylor Tournament were played at Taylor in Upland. Saturday will see a change of venue as teams will do battle at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion.
The Wildcats (4-2) will continue to see stellar competition tomorrow in Luckey Arena. IWU plays No. 22-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College at 1:30 p.m. and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University at 4 p.m. Olivet Nazarene received votes in the NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Preseason Poll.
