Box Score 3 DAYTON, Ohio -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball captured the Cedarville Classic championship on Saturday in Dayton, Ohio.
Indiana Wesleyan finished the round robin portion of the classic with a 3-1 record. After two wins on Friday, IWU defeated Salem International (W.V.) University 11-3 in five innings but lost 4-3 to host Cedarville (Ohio) University.
The top two teams were placed in the championship game. Cedarville was a perfect 4-0 to advance to the title game while Indiana Wesleyan's 3-1 record trumped Siena Heights (Mich.) University (2-2), Rochester (Mich.) College (1-3) and Salem International (0-4) to earn a rematch with Cedarville in the championship game.
The Wildcats took their revenge with a 6-4 victory to win the classic championship.
Indiana Wesleyan is now 11-7 on the season and has won 10 of their last 11 games. IWU will return to the field next weekend when they host the IWU Tournament on March 25-26.
