Box Score 2 DAYTON, Ohio -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball extended its win streak to eight with two victories on the first day of the Cedarville Classic being played in Dayton, Ohio.
Indiana Wesleyan hammered Rochester (Mich.) College 9-0 in just five innings and followed with a 6-5 victory over Siena Heights (Mich.) University.
Junior Abbie Forman pitched a complete game shutout versus Rochester to collect the victory in game one. In the second game against Siena Heights, Indiana Wesleyan built a 6-1 lead. Siena Heights roared back with four runs in the fifth and sixth innings to cut the deficit to one. But IWU was able to fend off SHU in the seventh inning for a two win Friday.
Following a 1-6 start to the season, the Wildcats have won eight in a row over the past week to stand 9-6 overall.
Indiana Wesleyan will complete the Cedarville Classic on Saturday with up to three games. IWU will play Salem International (W.V.) University at 9 a.m. and host Cedarville (Ohio) University at 11:45 a.m. The five team classic will then pair off the top four teams in games at 2:30 p.m.
