MARION, Ind. -- Spring Arbor (Mich.) University was the seventh straight victim of the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team tonight at Luckey Arena.

The No. 20-ranked Wildcats (25-4, 14-2 MCC) did not play their best volleyball but were still able to cruise to a 3-0 win by scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-18. The victory is the 19th win in the last 20 matches for the team.

"I think this goal we have to try to conquer these rated teams has gotten in the way a little bit," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Candace Moats. "We were looking past this game but we did get it done. So I have to give them credit for that. Even though we didn't play a great game we did what we had to do to get through this."

The middle hitters came up big tonight for the Wildcats. Sophomore Kristine Egebrecht and senior Peyton Thompson combined for 29 kills and a .480 attacking percentage. Another middle hitter, senior Lauryn Barfell, added eight kills and led the defense with four block assists.

"It was a strategy for us to run the middle and to just be dominant there," continued Moats. "We've been working on the middles a lot with just their shots. Like see the block ahead of you and know your shot. And they did fantastic with that tonight. They were pulling and cutting. I was really proud of the middles."

Junior setter Yui Iwase had 40 assists in the match and senior libero Kelsey Masuda led all players with 16 digs.

Indiana Wesleyan forced Spring Arbor (12-16, 6-8 MCC) into 14 attack errors to just 20 kills. Spring Arbor finished the evening with a .062 attack percentage.

The Wildcats return to the court this weekend at the Boneyard Brawl, hosted by Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. On Friday, IWU will play Walsh (Ohio) University at noon and No. 10-ranked Indiana Tech at 4 p.m.
