Box Score MARION, Ind. -- The wins keep coming for the No. 5-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball team as IWU improved to 10-0 in the Mid-Central College Conference on Tuesday night with a 72-48 win over visiting Goshen (Ind.) College.
Tonight's win, coupled with a loss by University of Saint Francis (Ind.), has Indiana Wesleyan with a three game lead in the MCC standings with six games left to play.
And unlike most Indiana Wesleyan wins this season, Tuesday night was never in doubt. IWU led the entire game and opened with a 19-4 run.
The Wildcats' lead remained between 14-19 points over the final 12 minutes of the first half. At the break, IWU led 43-24.
Indiana Wesleyan earned their largest lead of the night at 66-40 with 7:49 remaining.
All 13 Wildcats that dressed saw at least four minutes of play and nine saw 10 minutes. Ten players scored and all 13 had at least one rebound.
Sophomore forward Patrick Hopkins finished with 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Indiana Wesleyan. Senior forward Will Hubertz boasted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds while sophomore guard Aaron Martin was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 14.
Goshen's Geofrey Gilot was the only Maple Leaf in double digits with 14 points.
Indiana Wesleyan played another terrific game on the defensive end. IWU limited Goshen to 26.6-percent (17 of 64) shooting and 5.9-percent (1 of 17) from beyond the arc.
Indiana Wesleyan runs their program record win streak to 18 straight while improving to 10-0 in the conference. Goshen falls to 8-15 on the season and 1-9 in the MCC.
Next up for Indiana Wesleyan is Bethel (Ind.) College at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 29 in Luckey Arena. The game is a ?White Out!' and all Wildcat fans are encouraged to wear white in support of Indiana Wesleyan.
