Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Freshman goalkeeper Dylan McCauley earned his second straight shutout win in Mid-Central College Conference play Wednesday night in a 2-0 victory for Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer over host University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
McCauley made eight saves in the Wildcat win, including six in the opening 45 minutes of play. The freshman has made 11 saves over his last two matches as he piled up three saves on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Huntington (Ind.) University.
The Indiana Wesleyan offensive attack complimented McCauley and the defense with 19 shots against Saint Francis. IWU put 13 shots on target forcing USF goalkeeper Nick Morken to block 11 shots. Shots came from all over as nine different Wildcats took a shot attempt while eight Wildcats put shots on goal.
Junior midfielder Josh McKinley and junior forward Erik Johnson each found the back of the net for Indiana Wesleyan. McKinley scored the game-winning goal in the 26th minute while Johnson iced the contest with a score in the 90th minute.
The back-to-back shutout wins for Indiana Wesleyan improves the Wildcats' record to 2-1-0 in the MCC which rockets IWU into the top third of the conference standings. Indiana Wesleyan is now 4-6-1 overall. Saint Francis tumbles to 4-6-0 and 0-1-0 in the MCC.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 2 in a Homecoming match with Malone (Ohio) University at Wildcat Field.
