Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 5 Men's Soccer Draws with Marian in Last Road Regular Season Match

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan Men's Soccer traveled south on Saturday to take on Marian University under the lights. The contest ended in a 2-2 draw after both teams scored a goal in each period. The Wildcats look to next Wednesday when they play No. 23 Bethel with a chance to win the Crossroads League regular season title.

Yarek Carnegie helped the Wildcats take the lead in the 14th minute by sneaking one through the goalkeepers' legs on a 1-v-1 after taking the ball from the defender. The Knights scored quickly however and tied it at one a piece in the 15th minute. IWU would force Marian to make five saves in the first half, but the teams entered halftime, 1-1. It was a close contest with both sides playing tough defense in the second half. IWU had an opportunity with a penalty kick but was denied by the Knights keeper. The battle continued until the 82nd minute when Sam Goodin scored off a pass from fellow defender Erick Vanzela to retake the lead for IWU. But Marian equalized it once more in the 86th minute. In the frantic final minute, Indiana Wesleyan goalkeeper Kadin Wolfe made an incredible diving save to keep the game tied and the match finished 2-2.
