Box Score 2 WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball improved to 7-1 in the Mid-Central College Conference with a pair of victories over host Grace (Ind.) College on Saturday afternoon in Winona Lake, Indiana.
With wins of 13-4 and 3-1, Indiana Wesleyan improves on their season best seven game wins streak to improve to 19-11 on the season.
Indiana Wesleyan did little wrong in the 13-4 opener.
Nikki Hall was the winning pitcher as she allowed four runs in 3-2/3 innings. Kate Hall finished the game and struck out two while giving up one hit in 3-1/3 innings of work.
Leftfielder Kelsey Decker hit 3-of-4 in the game with a double and four RBI. Second baseman Christy Gibson was 3-of-5 with a double, three RBI, two runs and one stolen base.
Centerfielder Tamara Davis was the third Wildcat with three hits. She scored a pair of runs and collected a double while catcher Molly Yothment clubbed a two-run home run.
In the second game, Grace led throughout most of the contest after scoring a run in the first. Indiana Wesleyan was held scoreless until a three run sixth inning.
Erin Abrams hit a home run while Gibson finished 2-for-4. Davis was 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one runs scored and shortstop Katie Berkemeier added a double and a run scored.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 12 as the Wildcats will play at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
