Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- No. 6-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University women's basketball dropped a road game at Spring Arbor (Mich.) University by a 68-60 margin on Saturday afternoon.
Spring Arbor shot 53.3-percent (24 of 45) from the floor and earned a 30-to-19 rebounding advantage. SAU outscored IWU 45-36 in the second half when the Cougars shot 73.7-percent (14 of 19).
Wildcat junior forward Elaine Hessel scored a season-high 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor and 11-of-13 from the foul line. Sophomore guard Rachel Steinbarger was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 10 points in addition to a game-high seven assists.
Kristin Kotarba led Spring Arbor with 16 points and seven assists.
Indiana Wesleyan drops to 21-5 this season and 10-2 in the Mid-Central College Conference. Spring Arbor improves to 4-20 and 2-11 in conference play.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play on Wednesday, February 10 as IWU hosts University of Saint Francis in Luckey Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
