Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball completed the Boneyard Brawl at Georgetown, Kentucky with a two match split on Saturday.
Indiana Wesleyan opened the morning with a 3-0 defeat of No. 24-ranked Olivet Nazarene. IWU won the three set match by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-21.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Quackenbush finished with eight kills and junior middle hitter Peyton Thompson added seven. Sophomore setter Yui Iwase assisted on 28 kills while junior outside hitter Kate Denlinger served a pair of aces.
Defensively, freshman defensive specialist Rebecca Brandes totaled 14 digs and junior libero Kelsey Masuda ended with 12. Thompson assisted on five blocks at the net for the Wildcats.
The victory over Olivet Nazarene extended the Wildcat win streak to nine in a row, but the run came to a close in the final match of the weekend versus Campbellsville (Ky.) University. The Tigers staved off the Wildcats in five sets by scores of 23-25, 21-25, 27-25, 25-23, 13-15.
Quackenbush and Denlinger each accumulated 15 kills against Campbellsville and Iwase amassed 52 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Jordan Sudzina served two aces.
Thompson controlled the nets for the Wildcats with seven block assists. Junior middle hitter Lauryn Barfell tallied two solo blocks and three block assists.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 20-9 on the season and will return to the court at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3 with a home match versus Marian (Ind.) University in Luckey Arena.
