Box Score MARION, Ind. -- The wins keep rolling in for the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team as it stretched its win streak in the Mid-Central College Conference to eight with a 3-0 win against Grace (Ind.) College on Friday night at Luckey Arena.
The 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 victory over the Lancers extends the Wildcat win streak in conference play to eight straight as the team has not lost in the conference since September 23. Following a 1-3 start in MCC matches, the Wildcats have soared into second place with a 9-3 mark and are two games better in the loss column than third place Spring Arbor (Mich.) University.
Overall, Indiana Wesleyan has won 10 of its last 12 matches to improve to 15-8 on the season.
Not much went wrong for the Wildcats Friday night. IWU earned a .363 hitting percentage as a team and committed just seven hitting errors in 91 attempts. Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Quackenbush was the biggest factor on the night with a team-leading 12 kills and a .550 hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter Kate Denlinger also finished with an impressive offensive night with 10 kills and a .500 attack percentage. She also controlled the nets for the Wildcats with team highs in blocks with one solo and six assists.
The Brandes twins led Indiana Wesleyan in digs. Freshman outside hitter Rae Brandes had eight digs, six kills and three aces while freshman defensive specialist Rebecca Brandes also had eight digs.
Sophomore setter Yui Iwase once again led the team in assists on Friday with 36.
With the loss, Grace falls to 14-13 this season and 7-6 in the MCC.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court tomorrow night at Huntington (Ind.) University. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
