Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. -- The wins keep coming for the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team.
The Wildcats captured their sixth consecutive victory in Mid-Central College Conference action Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory over host Goshen (Ind.) College. IWU won the four set match by scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.
Indiana Wesleyan has not lost in conference play since a road loss at Marian (Ind.) University on September 23. IWU has won nine of their 11 matches overall dating back to September 18.
Tonight, freshman outside hitter Rae Brandes smoked 14 kills on the evening and freshman libero Rebecca Brandes collected 22 digs in the winning effort. Sophomore setter Yui Iwase passed out 44 assists and served two aces while freshman middle hitter Kristine Egebrecht controlled the net with one solo block and five block assists.
Indiana Wesleyan now stands at 7-3 in the MCC and is just half a game behind Spring Arbor (Mich.) University for second place in the conference. Overall, IWU is 13-8 while Goshen falls to 11-12 and 5-8 in the MCC.
The Wildcats will take a week off and return to the court next Wednesday night. IWU will travel to Mishawaka, Indiana for a 7 p.m. showdown with Bethel (Ind.) College on October 20.
