Box Score 2 BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball lost a pair of matches Saturday at the Holiday Inn Express Tournament in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
No. 14-ranked Dordt (Iowa) College captured a 3-0 win over Indiana Wesleyan in the Saturday opener. Dordt won by scores of 25-14, 26-24 and 25-23.
IWU senior outside hitter Kelli Ziegler paced the Wildcats with 10 kills while freshman setter Yui Iwase passed out 22 assists. Sophomore opposite hitter Kate Denlinger and sophomore middle hitter Lauren Barfell each contributed three blocks in the match.
In the tournament finale for the Wildcats, Freed-Hardeman pulled out a 3-1 wins by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-14 and 25-17.
Indiana Wesleyan (4-12) was led by Ziegler once again with 18 kills. Iwase earned 27 assists and two service aces with junior defensive specialist Sarah Byrne gaining 18 digs.
Ziegler was honored for her play during the weekend by being named to the all-tournament team.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22 as the Wildcats host Grace (Ind.) College in Mid-Central College Conference action at Luckey Arena.
