Box Score MARION, Ind. (Box Score) -- Despite rainy conditions throughout the day Indiana Wesleyan University captured a 5-0 win over Huntington (Ind.) University in the first round of the Mid-Central College Conference Softball Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
Only three of the scheduled 10 games for the opening day of the tournament were completed due to rain. The final first round game was suspended in the third inning as the rains came down.
No. 5-seed Indiana Wesleyan had a no-hitter from starting pitcher Abbie Forman to advance in the tournament with the win over No. 4-seed Huntington. Forman walked four and struck out 11 batters.
Indiana Wesleyan totaled seven hits in the contest by six different players. Left fielder Kelsey Decker was 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Centerfielder Tamara Davis ended 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Shortstop Morgan Wheeler scored twice and had a stolen base.
The Wildcats advance and will battle top-seeded Bethel (Ind.) College. Due to postponements of today's other games, a start time has not yet been announced.
