Box Score Kissimmee, Fla. -- Indiana Wesleyan University fell one win shy of a repeat in the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship as Judson (Ill.) University won the title courtesy of a 4-3 win on Saturday night in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Wildcats won the 2008 national championship as the No. 1-seed. IWU completed that tournament run with a 2-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College in the finals.
It was not the first meeting this season between the two teams as Judson earned a 6-1 victory over Indiana Wesleyan on September 12 in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Judson looked to have the championship in hand with a 2-0 advantage. But Indiana Wesleyan stormed back with a pair of goals to tie the score at 2-2. But Judson quickly regained a two goal advantage with two more goals for the 4-2 lead.
Indiana Wesleyan scored again and cut the lead to one and made it a 4-3 contest. But IWU could not score the equalizer as Judson won the NCCAA title.
Judson ends the season with a 19-3-1 mark while Indiana Wesleyan evens their record at 11-11-1.
