Box Score 2 LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna University Crusader Classic provided a pair of five sets matches for the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team on Friday evening in Livonia, Michigan.
Indiana Wesleyan won one and lost the other match to move their record to 9-26 on the season.
The Wildcats defeated Walsh (Ohio) University by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 13-25 and 15-12. Walsh drops to 23-4 on the season.
University of Michigan-Dearborn pushed Indiana Wesleyan to a second straight five set match immediately after the match with Walsh. This time IWU fell in five sets by scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-14, 18-25 and 9-15. Michigan-Dearborn improves to 8-23.
Senior outside hitter Kelli Ziegler produced 37 kills in the two matches and freshman setter Yui Iwase collected 83 assists. Iwase and junior libero Taryn Cocallas each earned three service aces while Cocallas also had 22 digs on the day.
Indiana Wesleyan will finish the classic on Saturday with a pair of matches. IWU will battle Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University at 11:30 a.m. and host No. 18-ranked Madonna at 1:30 p.m.
