Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind. (Box Score) -- Firing early and often led to a 3-0 Indiana Wesleyan University victory over host Huntington (Ind.) University on Wednesday afternoon in women's soccer action.
The Wildcats (12-2-1, 6-1-0 MCC) outshot the Foresters 26-6 for the match and held a vast 18-2 lead at halftime.
Three different Wildcats scored in the win. Freshman forward Kylie Dial recorded the game-winner in the 22nd minute and junior midfielder Brittany Smith added the other first half goal in the 32nd minute as IWU led 2-0 at intermission.
Indiana Wesleyan junior forward Megan Marshall put the match out of reach with her eighth goal on the season in the 84th minute. Marshall is now tied with freshman forward Kelsey Johnston for the team lead in goals.
Marshall and Johnston each earned one assist in the victory over Huntington (3-12-1, 0-5-1 MCC).
Freshman goalkeeper Beth Anne Nowak collected four saves in net for Indiana Wesleyan for her third shutout of the season and eighth for IWU overall.
No. 18-ranked Indiana Wesleyan will next play a non-conference tilt at Manchester (Ind.) College with a 2 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, October 24.
