Box Score 2 ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball opened the Lindenwood Invitational on Friday afternoon in St. Charles, Missouri.
In the Wildcats' first contest on Friday, Indiana Wesleyan dropped a three set match to Baker (Kan.) University by scores of 18-25, 20-25 and 25-27.
Baker is now 22-1 on the season and is in the receiving votes section of the NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll.
IWU sophomore setter Kelsey Masuda earned team-highs with 13 assists and two service aces. Freshman outside hitter Rachel Quackenbush totaled 10 kills and freshman setter Yui Iwase added 11 assists.
The nightcap on Friday pitted Indiana Wesleyan versus Benedictine (Kan.) College. IWU lost in four sets by scores of 18-25, 25-19, 13-25 and 22-25.
Freshman outside hitter Brooke Atwell contributed 12 kills while Iwase dished out 17 assists. As a team, IWU earned 74 digs.
Benedictine improves to 15-4 on the year while Indiana Wesleyan now stands at 5-19.
The Wildcats complete the Lindenwood Invitational on Saturday with a pair of matches. IWU battles Evangel (Mo.) University at 10:30 a.m. and William Jewell (Mo.) University at 2:30 p.m.
