Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Despite cold and snowy conditions the Indiana Wesleyan University women's basketball team shot a scorching 26-of-30 (86.7-percent) from the charity strip to capture a 58-52 road win over Marian (Ind.) College.
Wildcat sophomore forward LeAnn Douglas led the free throw parade with a 10-for-10 performance at the line. She led the team with 20 points and eight boards.
A tight game throughout featured 17 ties and 13 lead changes. Neither team gained a lead larger than six points. The game was deadlocked 26-26 at halftime.
IWU sophomore guard Kayla Thompson chipped in with 13 points and three assists and sophomore forward Elaine Hessel added 13 points with four rebounds.
The victory evens the Wildcats' Mid-Central College Conference record at 3-3 as IWU improves to 14-6 overall. The Knights fall to 15-4 and 3-3 in the MCC.
Indiana Wesleyan returns home for their next contest as the Wildcats host Grace (Ind.) College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 17 in Luckey Arena.
