Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Box Score) -- Four players scored 17 or more points as the No. 7-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball team won for the eighth straight time with an 89-77 win at University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon.
Senior forward Landon Adler had a huge performance against the Cougars with 18 points and 19 rebounds. It is the sixth double-double of the season for Adler.
Wildcat junior forward Zach Coverstone poured in a team-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Coverstone also grabbed eight boards and tied a school record with seven blocked shots. Junior guard Spencer Harris added 18 points and senior guard Antonio Murrell ended the day with 17 points and six rebounds.
Indiana Wesleyan continues to shoot well as a team as the Wildcats hit on 53.7-percent (29 of 54) of their shots. IWU was also able to get to the foul line a lot and connected on 27-of-39 (69.2-percent) free throws.
Saint Francis was held to 43.5-percent (30 of 69) shooting, including 28.6-percent (6 of 21) from 3-point range.
The Wildcats won the rebounding edge 41-34 in addition to blocking eight Cougar shot attempts.
Indiana Wesleyan held a 42-31 advantage at halftime. IWU would lead by as many as 14 points midway through the second half before a late Saint Francis charge cut the lead to six points at 80-74 with less than three minutes to play. But Indiana Wesleyan hit on four of five free throws in the final minute and a half to secure the Mid-Central College Conference victory.
Saint Francis sophomore forward DeJovaun Sawyer-Davis recorded a game-high 31 points.
Indiana Wesleyan attempts to push their win streak to nine in a row as the Wildcats play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 against Marian (Ind.) College in Luckey Arena.
