Box Score WILMORE, Ky. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer team completed their two game trip to Kentucky with a decisive 7-1 victory on Thursday night at Asbury (Ky.) College.
"We came out hard today and had good results against a good team who can mark and move the ball well," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Dr. John Bratcher. "The team played about as well as we could at this point of the season and I was very pleased with the girls and their effort tonight."
Sophomore midfielder Megan Marshall led the Wildcat attack with three goals while freshman midfielder Amanda Stoller added two. Senior forward Becca Mathews found the back of the net and freshman forward Kristin Perrine connected on her first collegiate goal as well.
Indiana Wesleyan senior goalkeeper Melissa Gingerich earned five saves for the win. The Wildcats dominated Asbury (0-1) in the shots category as the Wildcats had 28 shots with 19 on goal.
No. 18-ranked Indiana Wesleyan is now 2-0 and returns to the field at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 1, as the Wildcats host No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College.
