Box Score 2 MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- No. 16-ranked Bethel (Ind.) College defeated Indiana Wesleyan University 6-1 and 8-5 in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon in Mishawaka, Indiana.
IWU falls to 13-13 overall and 6-4 in the Mid-Central College Conference. Bethel improves to 33-4 and 12-0 in conference play.
Senior second baseman Jeni Stansel and senior left fielder Stephanie Linette each collected a hit in the 6-1 loss in the opening game.
The second game was called in the sixth inning due to wet field conditions with the Pilots capturing an 8-5 victory.
Stansel rapped a pair of hits in the game with a double and two runs batted in. Sophomore catcher Christy Gibson and sophomore designated hitter Melissa Kimmel were each 1-for-3 in the game with a double.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 14 as the Wildcats host Taylor (Ind.) University in a doubleheader.
