MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University freshman guard Kayla Thompson was named the Mid-Central College Conference Women?s Basketball Player of the Week, according to the conference.

Thompson led the Wildcats to two victories last week, against No. 6-ranked University of Saint Francis (Ind.) and Taylor (Ind.) University.

The Indianapolis, Indiana native averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Thompson also averaged 1.5 steals.

No. 13-ranked Indiana Wesleyan is 26-4 this season.
