Box Score MARION, Ind. -- Bethel?s last second 3-pointer forced overtime and the Pilots outscored the Indiana Wesleyan University men?s basketball team 12-5 in the extra session to capture an 89-82 victory Wednesday night in Luckey Arena.
Indiana Wesleyan junior guard Jon Moon connected on a pair of free throws with six seconds showing on the clock in regulation to give Indiana Wesleyan a 77-74 advantage. Bethel quickly moved the ball up court and sophomore guard Ryne Lightfoot drilled the game-tying three as the horn sounded to force the extra session.
With the score knotted at 79-79 with four minutes remaining in overtime, Bethel took control and scored 10 of the final 13 points to escape with the 89-82 win.
Indiana Wesleyan (18-8, 7-6) was led by freshman forward Will Hubertz who scored a team-high 21 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Junior guard Antonio Murrell added 19 points and five assists.
Bethel (22-5, 10-3) was led by junior forward William Walker. He recorded a double-double with game highs of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Lightfoot finished with 23 points.
Both team shot extremely well on the evening. The Pilots shot 51.6-percent (33 of 64) and the Wildcats ended at 50.0-percent (28 of 56).
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, as the Wildcats travel to play Huntington (Ind.) University.
